For Winesday this February we are tasting Zinfandels. This week our friends at Central Coast Wines recommended Sextant’s 2008 Zinfandel. We previously tasted Sextant’s 2007 Zinfandel. It will be interesting to see how the two vintages compare.
“Was very interesting to go from tasting white wines to a dark red wine. I did really enjoy pairing this Zinfandel with some cheese and specialty chocolates. You can really taste the different berry flavors which is something I highly enjoy.” – Syrah
“I really like Sextant Wines. I’ve been to their tasting room in Edna Valley. Really enjoying this rich berry flavored Zin!” – Ziggy
“Mmmm…I love a good Zin. Goes very well with the cheese and chocolate we are tasting with today.” – Mr. Stigson
“Darn good. Color was a tad on the tarnish side. Short legs. Beautiful bouquet and aroma. Rich, well balanced flavor. Notes of vanilla, plum and fig. Tasted with Manchego cheese.” – Frenchy
“Full of deep berry, mostly raspberry. Paired nicely with the Manchego cheese.” – Captain Chardonnay
