Our new project coordinator Eric made this scrumptious mix for our holiday potluck. It’s easy and will be a crowd pleaser at any holiday party. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
1/4 cup butter
3/4 cup peanut butter
1 cup chocolate chips
2 cups powdered sugar
8 cups chex cereal
Directions:
Combine butter, peanut butter and chocolate chips in a pot or sauce pan. Thoroughly melt over low heat. Put 8 cups chex cereal in large bowl. Once you have thoroughly melted the chocolate chips, butter and peanut butter pour it over the chex cereal and mix together so the cereal is evenly coated. Combine the coated cereal and powdered sugar in a brown paper bag. Close the bag so the powdered sugar doesn’t billow out. Shake the bag for a few minutes to evenly cover the cereal with the powdered sugar. Pour back in the bowl and it’s ready to go.
Extras:
You can experiment with different types of chips (milk chocolate, dark chocolate, white chocolate, butterscotch, etc…) and crunchy or smooth peanut butter.
You can also throw in pretzels, M&Ms or other candies to make a really good mix.
